The government cannot afford to carry on ignoring the growing demands for dual citizenship and voting rights for Zimbabweans in the Diaspora, according to Gabriel Shumba of the Zimbabwe Exiles Forum. He also says that despite the new Copac website calling for submissions, Zimbabweans in the Diaspora are still unable to participate in the constitutional outreach exercise.

    Voting rights for Zimbabweans in the diaspora: All very well, but given the continuing widespread state-sponsored violence, it brings to mind the altercation in Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels over which end to break open one’s hard-boiled egg. The tragic case of Mike Campbell appalled me, when I watched Mugabe and the White Man recently.
    But since nothing apparently can be done just yet to consign Mugabe and his henchmen to the dustbin of history where they so rightly belong, maybe you had best resign yourselves to arguing about eggs.
